Designer of the festival logo

Japanese animation, with its roots in traditional picture stories such as the National Treasure “Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga,” is now loved around the world and is also drawing attention as a cutting-edge form of expression.
Further developing this world-renowned animation culture and continuing to lead the world is also part of our mission.
This festival aims to become a place for exchange that transcends borders and generations, and a platform to discover entirely new talent.

With Tokorozawa City—known as a “sacred place of animation”—as our host base, we will share this possibility-filled animation culture with the world.

The Thought Behind the Logo

“Dragon” and “Phoenix.”
Both have been revered since ancient times in the East as mythical sacred beasts.
The dragon embodies great power, while the phoenix symbolizes love and peace.
The image of fictional beings freely traversing beyond nations and regions, bringing joy and happiness to the Earth, reflects the present-day animation culture that is sweeping the world.
When the dragon and the phoenix come together, harmony and prosperity are said to come to the entire world—and this wish is embodied in the design.
